After breaking down the compositions into background and foreground elements we know what the backgrounds should look like. In pics 12-14 you see some examples. I created these in Illustrator and as you can see i left out the foreground elements. All pictures are a perfect square. That's important because the geometry that these will be mapped onto will square too.

First create a cube. Mine is 1 meter in every direction but it really doesn't matter what type of units you use.
Create a multi/subobject material with 6 submaterials and apply that material to the cube (Click on the button that says "standard" and chose "Multi/Sub-object", click on "Set Number" and set it to 6). To better distinguish the materials chose different colors for each submaterial with enough contrast from one another. The easiest way to do this is to click on the colored rectangle to the right of the submaterial's name. This will let you change a materials diffuse color without having to go into submaterial mode.
